Our Story
The idea for Alda Grill came from a deep love for family, tradition, and, of course, good food. Carlos’s culinary journey began over 30 years ago in Uruguay, where he learned to cook from his mother and all of the many family asados. Alda passed down recipes and techniques that have stood the test of time, and they became the foundation for the delicious dishes we serve today.
The Alda Grill—named after Carlos’s mother, who was known for her warm hospitality and extraordinary cooking—sparked the inspiration to share these cherished flavors with the world. From the grill to the fryer, every dish we make is infused with the same care, tradition, and love that Alda brought to her kitchen.
When Carlos decided to start Alda Grill, the dream was simple: to offer authentic Uruguayan street food in a mobile setting. The food truck allows us to bring these beloved flavors to the streets of Sussex County, sharing the warmth and richness of Uruguay wherever we go.
